Padanaplast S.r.l. is a manufacturing Company established in 1971 and is part of Finproject Group, an international player in the crosslinkable polyolefin compounding and molding sector.
Its core competence is the reactive compounding of polyolefins using the Sioplas® technology. Padanaplast is currently one of the main actors worldwide in production and selling of silane-grafted modified polyolefins for use in Wire & Cable and Plastic Pipe industries. Being adjacent to its specific know-how, Padanaplast started to investigate applicative opportunities where the silane-grafting technology can give valuable benefits regarding performances and reliability respect the existing traditional solutions. Particularly, a focused study has been carried out to reach state-of-the art performances in making compatible polymers with inorganic materials, including the implementation in PV cells construction as encapsulant layer.
Padanaplast is located in Roccabianca (Parma, Italy). The site is on 39,000 m2 total surface area (18,000 m2 covered surface area). About 100 people are employed in Manufacturing, Sales, Customer Service, R&I and Technical Assistance. Current production capability is 46 kton/y.

Assets connected to the Be-Smart Project
Padanaplast is involved in Working Program 2 of BE-Smart Project as provider of polymeric materials for encapsulant film. Padanaplast will be active in the study and industrialization of modified polyolefin-based materials that allow to be processed with significantly lower energetic demand during the module production. Moreover, these innovative class of materials will allow a great improvement in the shelf-life of the module in term efficiency and aesthetic performances. Beside its function as compounder, Padanaplast will provide the extruded film for the demonstrative modules production.
